Heikki Huotari
The Greener We
To make us want the thing, that's what the other things are for—pre–dawn Doppler shifts, refrigerator boxes, vees of geese with hidden flaws. White light incorporates all colors, white paint admits none. In each cricket’s bucket is a single drop of blood. The greener we, the more we suffer from the flood.
Heikki Huotari is a retired professor of mathematics. In a past century, he attended a one–room country school and spent summers on a forest fire lookout tower. His poems appear in several journals, most recently in Diagram and Puerto del Sol, and he's the winner of the 2016 Gambling the Aisle chapbook contest.
