What a Piece of Work is Man by Kim Power
Kim Power is a mixed media painter and art writer currently living in The Bronx. Power has lived and shown her work in France, Netherlands, and across the United States. She creates modern mythological narratives that harken back to a childhood filled with fairytales, from Hans Christian Anderson to the Brothers Grimm, and an overactive imagination drawn to magical and mystical worlds that explore a deeper metaphysical search for meaning. Power combines acrylics, oil painting, pyrography, and collage on wood panels in a multiplicity of layered imagery that both reveals and conceals itself through a combination additive and subtractive methodologies.
