Paula Lafuente lives and works in Madrid. She is currently part of the research group “The Margins of Art." She is a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Cuenca. She completed her Masters in Scenic Practice and Visual Culture at the Reina Sofía National Museum. Lafuente has shown projections and collective events in Mexico City, Milan, Los Angeles, Krakovia, Birmingham and Madrid.

Her work investigates the performative body mediated by photography and video, mainly through the use of plastic and other industrial materials as well as technology. The theories that are foundational to her practice are defined as post-humanism, where there is neither gender nor identity as we understand it now. The approach to other bodies and objects is made horizontally transversal through an exercise of resistance to the vertical structures that control the world.
