Blair Simmons is a 3D artist, teacher, computer programmer and freelance designer who studies performance theory. Her personal work displayed here concentrates on the dismemberment and re-assemblage of female bodies. She graduated from NYU with a degree in Dramatic Literature and Computer Science. She was a recipient of the DURF Research Grant, where she researched issues of staging philosophy and the relationship between language and reality. This project resulted in a play called Staging Wittgenstein, most recently shown at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She is currently at NYU Gallatin for graduate school where she researches computer generated art, fear of technology, digital doubling, and collaborations between humans and computers. On weekends she teaches 3D printing to kids at the Harlem School of the Arts.
